How Does Image to Text (OCR) Work?

Optical Character Recognition, or OCR, is a technology that converts different types of documents, such as scanned paper documents, PDF files, or images captured by a digital camera into editable and searchable data. Our tool uses a powerful JavaScript library called Tesseract.js, which brings this capability directly into your web browser.

The Process is Simple: When you upload an image, the tool's script analyzes the patterns of light and dark that make up the letters and numbers. It identifies characters, words, and sentences, effectively "reading" the image. The result is plain text that you can easily copy, edit, and use anywhere you need.

Common Uses: This technology is incredibly useful for digitizing printed documents, extracting text from screenshots, converting notes from a photo into a text file, and making information from images accessible and searchable.
